Why does the moon appear bigger close to the horizon, rising or setting?
@dmckee because in my experience with 'google' I have found several answers that are better explained on other websites than on Wikipedia (stackexchage websites being one of these resources). I asked here because in my opinion an interactive Q&A platform with people actively watching over Q's in order to answer them is more productive than the Wiki system. Of course I cannot minimize (and will not) the merit of the people that I respect for contributing to Wikipedia.

@dmckee I trust wikipedia, but however I was wondering if there is any certain explanation since Wikipedia sais it is still debated.

@annav Thank you for the comments! I do not think that it is photoshopped, or at least not very much because it is a phenomena that I have observed myself.
