I'm a recently retired U of Texas-Austin English prof who in 2013 published a book on William Blake that, toward the end, led me into problems of topology for which I am utterly unequipped - even as I continue to pursue them in perhaps another book. All my life, my greatest admiration has been for artists on one hand, physical scientists on the other. I guess if you don't have the chops, you try to split the difference by studying an artist-cosmologist like William Blake, who was all about trying to extend his age's capabilities of visualization - through poetic images, non-Euclidean pictures, and a very cantankerous mythology. I joined StackExchange because I expect I'm going to need help in completing my next project. But also, as a former educator, I want to give back (for those who are interested), and so when possible will try to follow up and extrapolate any replies to my queries.
