How exactly are linear and rotational velocity and acceleration related?

differentiate $s = \theta r$ ($s$ being the arc length, so therefore it's a distance not a displacement), $\frac{ds}{dt}$ must be speed (distance over time), but $\frac{d\theta}{dt}$ will give angular velocity
