Say I have a rotation rate of: $$\Omega = 1 Hz = 1\frac{cycle}{s} $$ Here $ 1 cycle = $ a full turn of the rotor = $2\pi$
If I wish to express this a rpm:
By definition $ 1 rev = $ a full turn of the rotor = $2\pi$
So, $$1Hz = 1\frac{cycle}{s} = 1\frac{rev}{s} = 1\frac{rev}{s} \cdot\frac{60s}{min} = 60 rpm$$
Is this reasoning correct?
