Despite of atoms being mostly vaccum, why things are so rigid around us?

I can't say confidently that atom is mostly vacuum, but I am somewhat sure that atom is mostly vacuum because electrons and nucleons cover much less space and everything other than these elementary particles in atom is vacuum.

Why is everything around us rigid even if the atom is mostly vacuum?
