My background is in computer programming, focusing on programming language design & theory. Esoteric programming languages are a fun pastime for me.
I take up mathematics and physics on the side with great interest, particularly studying the open problems today and the ideas leading to them. Most of these problems are too advanced for me to formally educate myself on (anymore), so I ask questions without regard until satisfied the current theories work or they demonstrably have a way to go (and guesses as to what that might be).
It does mean that if you hold tightly to specific views on some subjects, we'll butt heads at some point; just know I mean no disrespect by it, I just want to understand the subject matter without ignorance of alternatives.
Currently I'm paying a lot of attention to problems regarding quantum gravity as this should answer every one of my questions about the nature of mass and time - the conventional explanations I find incomplete or unsatisfyingly recursive, or plain disagreeable depending on which theory you're closer to (GR vs QM issues).
Happy to chat about these things any time. See you around.
