Mathematics used to be an easy subject for me, until I was asked to show my work and do "proofs." I got over my distaste for such things eventually, but after trying to get through Calculus and Differential Equations by rote memorization, I decided that actually understanding things would work better. I've been in love with mathematics ever since.
I've been a math and physics tutor, a math professor, and an enthusiastic hobbyist exploring the mathematical playground from the analytical to the abstract. Currently, much of my job is helping children and adults with dyscalculia to understand the "why" of mathematics, so that they can get an instinct for the "how" and "when" of it. It was there that I first developed a love for explaining mathematics to others; I kept coming back to it over the years, between other pursuits, and now it feels like home.
