When you have made some stupid mistakes on a blackboard, you quickly want to erase it before anyone sees them with a wet sponge. So you clean the blackboard and within a minute the blackboard is clean and dry again! 

I was wondering why the board is drying so quickly compared to other surfaces. Does it absorb the water or is it all due to "good" evaporation?
