Well I am studying classical physics right now but I am just looking through the papers of quantum mechanical model of an atom.I can't say confidently that atom is mostly vaccum, but I am somewhat sure that atom is mostly vaccum because electrons and nucleons cover very less space and everything other than these elementary particles in atom is vaccum.

I want to ask why everything around us is rigid even if the atom is mostly vaccum?
