This question already has an answer here:

I have a background in engineering so I have some familiarity with basic math and science. I've recently been reading about other topics such as Einstein's relativity and have become interested in learning more about this and other similar topics in science.

Are there any books you can recommend that explains this and similar topics (also stuff like astrophysics, spacetime, etc), but aimed at a more amateur audience?

Regarding physics, not sure whether it won't be too tough but you can try Susskind and Hrabovsky's Theoretical Minimum. On math, try a new book by Ed Frenkel Love and Math.

  • $\begingroup$ The Theoretical Minimum book seems to cover only Newtonian physics. $\endgroup$ – zundi Nov 14 '13 at 17:06
