Suppose two constant temperature (T1) and( T2 ) (T1>T2) large plane surfaces are there , in order to reduce heat loss we provide a heat shield in between them , i know at steady state there exists a temperature in the heat shield for heat transfer to remain same in both from T1 to heat shield and from hest shield to T2. My question is initally when we provide it with heat shield , what should be the temperature of heat shield , so as to get steady conditions later , should it be between T1,T2 or less then T1 or less then T2 only ? Also for steady state to attain, does the condition low emissivity and high absorbity of heat shield sufficient and enough ? ( I guess low emissivity condition so as to attain rise in temperature in heat shield)
