Why can the LHC not accelerate protons to several TeV in one go? What is the limitation?

My Answer:

  1. First reason is to minimize the cost of LHC accelerator construction by utilizing the previous accelerators.
  2. Also, it servers several other experiments at each stage as shown below. Experiments at CERN accelrator complex
  3. Circular accelerator uses RF cavities for the acceleration. Each cavity has a certain frequency range as per the design. So, one need different cavity for different energy range.

Question:

a) Is there any other reasons?

b) In my third reason about the RF Cavity design parameter, I don't know the details. So, Please let me know if you know what physical parameters of RF cavity one need to changes with energy. Also, let me know the energy range and RF cavity frequency range.
