Recently, I read a paper, the authors have mentioned that if we have $n$ stand for VEVs which are singlets of the SM gauge group, $k$ are associated with SM doublets, and $S$ is the VEV of the SM triplet. In principle one can expects that $S\ll k\ll n$. I do not understand why $S\ll k\ll n$?
