I have two front-loaded washing machines, when I wash shoes, in one of them the shoes seem to stick to the walls while it's spinning, but in the other I can hear them falling down now and then.

What are the variables that could be different with these machines? They are supposed to have the same speed (in RPM).

Does the radius of the washing machine drum matter? Does the mass of the shoes matter?
