I'm thinking of doing an independent reading course on the subject of cyclotron heating of plasmas, and I've love to hear any textbook recommendations. So far I've only found Gareth Guest's book, which seems quite good.

Before answering, please see our policy on resource recommendation questions. Please write substantial answers that detail the style, content, and prerequisites of the book, paper or other resource. Explain the nature of the resource so that readers can decide which one is best suited for them rather than relying on the opinions of others. Answers containing only a reference to a book or paper will be removed!

  • $\begingroup$ There's a 2005 textbook by Donald Gurnett and Amitava Bhattacharjee called "Introduction to Plasma Physics" that's a good starting point/introduction. If you're looking for more advanced stuff, let me know and I can send along more recommendations. $\endgroup$ – honeste_vivere May 1 at 23:10
  • $\begingroup$ I just went through an intro plasma course using Inan and Chen, so I think I've gotten the fundamentals down. What would you recommend for more advanced stuff? $\endgroup$ – Eublepharis May 1 at 23:34
