My understanding is that hydraulic hybrid systems have two reservoirs - one at high pressure and one at low pressure. I also understand that the working fluid can then be pumped between these two reservoirs, either increasing or decreasing the pressure differential depending on whether energy is being stored or returned to the wheels.

My question is whether there is an equation to calculate the energy stored within the system? (This is assuming I know the pressure of each reservoir as well as the volume of each reservoir)
