I know Kinetic energy of two body system is

$$KE = \frac{1}{2}\mu V^2_{rel}$$

where $\mu$ is the reduced mass $\mu = m_1 m_2 /(m_1+m_2)$ and Vrel is V1-V2 or the reverse .here I am not taking KE of com . But can it be applied to shm also ? Further KE in shm changes as a function of displacement . Then how ke changes for two body system .
