Could someone suggest a good book/review that could be used to understand hydrodynamics of conserved quantities for simple systems (say for example to understand energy transport in a chain of colliding atom)?

The general structure of reasoning in hydrodynamics seem very different from what I am used to from dynamics (at some level - use the eigenspectrum decomposition of the initial state to get the dynamics).
