This question already has an answer here:

In my understanding, Strings theory tries to establish a functional model explaining how the world works.

What are some practical applications of string theory?

Would a solution to one of the strings theory Problems have any practical consequences?

I know the problems of strings theory are especially of interest to theoretical physicists, but I was wondering if a solution to the problem would have any practical consequences.

  • $\begingroup$ The rich mathematical structure of stringery has provided useful tools to helicity violation in multi-gluon amplitudes in QCD, Kaluza-Klein cosmological speculations, information issues in black holes, etc... There are lots of practical benefits if you discount the theological hype.... $\endgroup$ – Cosmas Zachos Dec 5 '18 at 17:09
