Weinberg is too terse on the subject, does anyone know of good reference on how partial wave expansion is used in QFT, especially in studying resonant structures.

Apart from Weinberg QFT vol1, section 3.7, one can look at the paper: "On the general theory of collisions for particles with spin", Jacob and Wick 1959. A recent review that I found useful is one of the appendices of this paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2211.00085
