So, I should understand this that near centers of mass the space is so curved and messed up generally that the expansion has no chance to act - as if, not particles, but the space itself had to have a certain escape speed to move (expand) out of the inhomogenous areas? Replace the ants in "ants on balloon" models with specks of glue?
