Mar 12 at 22:31 | comment | added | Wolphram jonny | But I am asking about the 26 $x^{\mu}$ operators that act on a wavefunction (which is product tensored with the field states inside the string), and these do not seem to be field operators as they only act on the string's center of mass coordinates. Or that is what the book says. I will find the exact book reference if you need it. May be the fact that the string lives in 25 rather than 3 spatial dimensions is what makes the difference? | |
