Your answer did further my understanding and fortified some insecurities. However I'm still a bit confused about some small gaps. For example, why does white paper reflect all light? Like is this related to the Maxwell equations you stated or is it related to the subatomic structure of the cellulose molecule. I would have thought it was like a slightly different situation as is with atomic absorption spectra, namely due to the fact that this is a molecule with overlapping orbitals. | |
