Nov 26, 2021 at 8:44 comment added Sam Jaques Oh: The complex exponential modulates by complex "waves" of arbitrary length, so the period of $\psi(r)=e^{ik\cdot r}u(r)$, if it exists at all, need not be the same as the period of $u(r)$. That makes sense!
