Apr 29, 2013 at 19:06 comment added anna v en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_structure look at equation of cubic structures.depending on the variables different crystals are described. A TOE will have complicated symmetry groups and functonal forms but depending on the variables different facets of matter and laws folloed will be described. I think it is time to stop this. it is my bed time
Apr 29, 2013 at 19:01 comment added Jasmine If u dont mind can u give a mathematical example ? (As simple as possible)
Apr 29, 2013 at 18:48 comment added anna v Their manifestation changes as a function of variables. The universe is not a simple system and you cannot think of the mathematical formulation of a TOE as something appearing in two lines. The laws show a different mathematical facet according to changes in variables but should be concise and consistent mathematically.
Apr 29, 2013 at 18:10 comment added Jasmine Sorry if i am taking so long , just a last comment, how can we then call TOE immutable laws if the change when tempreture change ?
Apr 29, 2013 at 18:01 comment added anna v the left one is a useless expression, if not equqted to something
Apr 29, 2013 at 17:55 comment added Jasmine Don't mathematical expression is like 2x +5 and equation is 2x+5=7 as examples of both
Apr 29, 2013 at 17:32 comment added anna v mathematical expressions are equations. these are a function of changing the temperature varable.
Apr 29, 2013 at 16:35 comment added Jasmine Thank you alot , just to check the change is in mathematical expression not equations ?
Apr 29, 2013 at 12:06 comment added anna v temperature/energy is the variable that defines the regime, how we will be observing the immutable TOE laws in each regime.
Apr 29, 2013 at 11:29 comment added Jasmine So it is like different equations within the theory itself ? I.e tempreture is not the cause of the change of the equations ?
Apr 29, 2013 at 11:04 comment added anna v Their mathematical expression will change depending on the energies involved, but there will be a continuity, a smooth transition between frameworks. for example, special relativity has different conservation laws, but at the limit of low energies one recovers energy and momentum conservation of classical mechanics.
Apr 29, 2013 at 10:54 comment added Jasmine And these immutable laws of TOE would be the same from the start of bigbang ? I.e nit changed when tempreture cool down and SSB occur ?
Apr 29, 2013 at 10:41 comment added anna v this is true within the framework of the validity of the physical range where the mathematical theory holds. hierarchically since a gravitational singularity, as hypothtsized, is the reason for the big bang, that framework may give immutable laws. we have not reached that state , i.e. a TOE.
Apr 29, 2013 at 10:33 comment added Jasmine Then why are there laws more fuundamental than others ?
Apr 29, 2013 at 10:26 comment added anna v Nature is not a religion. We live in it and we observe it and depending on the physical framework different laws apply. For low energies the laws of classical mechanics are enough. For small distances / high energies it is the laws of quantum mechanics that apply, etc. Wherever you have read about non changing laws, it is wrong, or they were not emphasizing the relevance of the framework to which the laws are valid. Newton's gravitation laws morph into general relativity laws, each valid in its own regime of validity. The only requirement is of consistency at the limits, not immutabiliy.
Apr 29, 2013 at 10:06 comment added Jasmine thanks alot for answer , but allow me to be nore specefic i want to know does Fundamental laws of physics change when tempreture cool and SSB happen ? Ive always read that fundamental laws of nature are tge same since the begining and doesnt change . Not after few seconds if big bang , not now , not tomorrow ...etc
