I often find that people can grasp ideas when presented with analagous phenomena they are already comfortable with. My aim therefore was to try to help Neeraj form a helpful mental picture- I didn't want just to restate GR, as that is exactly what he had trouble understanding. All the best. | |

Yes, the important point is that the two observers have to be physically close to each other so that clock synchronisation issues can be neglected. Ideally they would be microscopic observers at a tiny point in space, but two humans within arm's length would do the trick equally well for practical purposes. | |
