You are describing pockets in which electrons get stuck, which, if I understand it correctly, implies that these pockets trap excessive electrons, somehow injected into plastic. Do these pockets, ready to trap excessive electrons, exist in other dielectric materials? Is it the main reason dielectrics do not conduct electronic current as well as vacuum? Are these pockets shown in band diagrams of dielectric materials? Any references to related articles or other materials would be greatly appreciated.
