Also many distant galaxies will be covered by closer ones, or at least by the dust clouds in closer ones. Then there is the fact that the further we look the further we look back in time. How many galaxies are there today?
May 20, 2018 at 8:58 comment added StarlightDown Let's assume we can make our lens arbitrarily wide to fit the situation. Our telescope is very sensitive. Can we do the task counting one-by-one instead of sampling? That was what I really wanted to know.
