@Deusovi Conflating units and denominators does not seem to help: A "naked" fraction such as 2/3 does not denote anything in the real world either. But 2/3 apple denotes "two of which three make up an apple" where 2 is the numerator and "of which 3 make up an apple" denominates what the 2 is numerating.
