Could you enlighten me a bit more what's the relation between Fourier series and the solution, which is a linear combination of two cosine terms ? By the fourier series, the frequency of the second cosine should be a multiple of the frequency of the first cosine, but it isnt. Also, the fourier series allows the linear combination of cosines to be infinite. Why does the mentioned linear combination that represents the chaotic motion of each mass only have two cosines ? Thanks a lot in advance
