I am a graduate student in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Tulane University. My research is on the analysis of the physical and chemical properties of polymers. Despite the chemistry that I need and use in my research, I haven't taken a chemistry class since high school.

comment How to model “Doppler Distortion” of speakers?
@MartinDrautzburg, I think I was trying to say something like what you've said. Is the current version more clear? Also, thank you for reminding me that I've actually heard this effect.

@Dave, I was trying to say something like that, but left in earlier wording. Let me know if the current wording of that paragraph is still confusing.

@WhatRoughBeast, I've added links to both the APS paper Andrew gave in his comment, and to the original paper by Vesselago.

Just to be clear: you are modelling the tweeter as being mounted on the subwoofer, and the doppler effect you're considering is due to the tweeter's velocity imparted from the movement of the subwoofer's cone? If my understanding is correct, then I have some ideas.
