@Nathaniel Before mathematics we used similar observations compared to eachother. I would imagine on some basic level all you need to describe the natural world is observation and communication

@ron Can a mass be worked out for all fermions or do they "not" require mass. Specifically how can we explain the standard model as not vector-like (and still call it the standard model which implies that standard gauge theories are not vector-like)

When it comes to qm intuition is important to me it helps me see the complexities of the interactions. without a strong mathmatical background "seeing" the equations play out in my head is the only way i can make sense of all those silly looking symbols :)

I think you might be seeing this as a wordage problem. The pilot would "use" more time from an observers point of view. That is as you go faster your age progresses more slowly but the amount of time that passes for the observer say if you went back goes faster. this is all perception of the individuals involved. this question might help physics.stackexchange.com/questions/4404/…
