Why does work equal force times distance? @orbifold I know that's late but... I now feel I was somewhat dense. When you started by stating that energy is abstract and that potential energy (in relation to gravity) is just one form, then stated how we got work from change in potential energy, did you want to convey that it (Work) is a generalization (to all forms of energy) based on this quite simple instance (of potential energy)? |

Why does the speed of light $c$ have the value it does? I personally don't know why it is what it is. But, generally, what's wrong is how you got the information. I'm sure many scientists have asked and attempted to answer this question, and maybe some found the answer, but what's wrong here is that I was told the number, or told that it's 1 in natural units, but never told the why. I wasn't told, I don't know where to look, but I'm sure it's already been found or being researched. So 'science' isn't at fault. |

How to build a lab at home/school? (general purpose, sophisticated, reliable and cheap) I would like the advice from people with experience in this. Please don't link to general articles that assume a home in Europe or the US. Rather, stick to international side so the question could be most useful. Add hints about the middle-east specifically if you want to help with my particular case locally. |

Can light exists in $2+1$ or $1+1$ spacetime dimensions? The space in spacetime is reduced to a light cone? I don't know (no expertise) so take a look. |

Can a planet have a larger diameter than Jupiter? How could a star be 'smaller' and 'more massive'? I think you meant 'of more mass'... |
