Isn't that what he said? That the cosmological constant could change if the curvature changes outside our observable universe (and that curvature eventually affects our observable universe).

I don't understand where the overlap occurs with string theory, however? Or brane cosmology? Or is it implying that every universe created by interaction of branes would result in potentially many false vacua within that universe (due to the nature of string theory), so each "universe" created by brane collisions is actually a multiverse. So the "bulk" where these collisions are happening is actually a multiverse of multiverses?
