E and H fields created by fiber optics? Thankyou. Very helpful. Almost feels like a "see the forest for the trees" conundrum. Light is an EM wave, which is the propagation of electromagnetic energy, which kind of makes the whole question moot.
Thanks again.
Is the acceleration and deceleration of a wave instantanious? I understand. It's not the the light slows down, the excited states of the medium "hold on" to the light for a brief amount of time, leading to an aggregated slowing of the propagation of the wave. So is this what is meant by absorption and re-emission of light through a medium?
