I have three years of experience at a small start-up company which I would not suggest to everyone, but for those willing to teach themselves, it is an excellent opportunity.

I currently work in medical proton therapy as a systems engineer. Both the details of a functioning particle accelerator and the beam physics I work with keep me interested in the day to day of my job.

I am also currently pursuing a masters degree in electrical engineering.

comment Why is Near Field Communication (NFC) range limited to about 20cm?
@dmckee It really could be either site, and it has a decent answer here. It is not my ideal, nothing seems to be pointing out that near field is a function of the antenna design, not of the wavelength used, but I dont think EE would give a better answer either.

Bragg peak is the key but it might be worth noting a major part is that you stop the beam which is more important then exit dose.

@annav, the cavities that are powered by klystrons is implying the accelerating force in the cavities is generated by the klystrons. The magnets themselves will not be powered by high power RF.

@dmckee, I just think that for most runners that is what causes wear. Also, most runners I know hate them.

@aaron, @dmckee, Actually, my wife is a physicist(Photonics) and a runner. A treadmill is chosen because it is one of the lowest impact running methods. I believe the material that you are running on and how the incline is held factor in, but it is considered low-impact running.
