@dmckee : you mean the same as How do we resolve a flat spacetime and the cosmological principle ? May be, i am not sure as I was not able to clearly understand the answers. So I made my question more basic. I like the answers below.

Thanks for your first part that enlightens me -- like wrong assumptions i made which Philip pointed in its answer. A comment from a dummy apart 2 of your answer : I have no problem with your explanation about angles, but because this explanation is the most classic one in "science article for dummies" like the ones i read, i came to consider (my implicit assumption) that finite => curved, and therefore "not curved => not finite" (otherwise stated : "flat => infinite", whereas you say "but a flat universe can be finite in size". Thanks for fixing that as well!

thanks. Indeed the biggest obstacle in the path to understanding are assumptions that we take because they seem "obvious" to us (to me in this case); your pointing at these wrong assumptions definitely answer my question. If i could i would vote you +1.
