comment On a bicycle, why does my back tyre wear so much more quickly than the front?
If I could down vote I would. I mostly brake with the front brakes - the rear brakes are not even close to being as effective. Amateur/beginner cyclists use the rear brake more because of the incorrect admonishment that if they pull hard on the front brake they will flip over the handlebars.

comment How does a maple syrup evaporator work?
The gas escapes along the entire surface area. Most large scale sugaring operations use reverse osmosis on the front end of the process - then they feed the concentrated sap into the evaporator.

comment How to calculate heat exchange/deltaT in a moving volume of fluid?
Great - thank you. We can assume the fluid is water - it is sugary water, but still water. The boiling temp of the most concentrated liquid is about 2C higher than that of water. The steam (from all practical observation behaves as in case 1 - more steam than is needed - so there is saturation). Again, thanks for your time!
