Computational physicist turned software engineer and data scientist. At my current employer I write some code for digital signal processing, image processing, Qt GUIs, middleware, and embedded systems that interact with FPGAs. I like challenging problems whether they be finding the correct algorithm, using data to forecast future observations, or designing a system to be robust and lightly coupled.
I like to always be learning new things. I have taught myself various programming languages including C++ and Python. I also have substantial knowledge in software architecture design, digital signal processing, image processing, machine learning, data mining, financial engineering and numerical optimization techniques. I am currently learning Scala, Spark, and other related distributed data science areas.
My physics background includes internships at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories and a M.S. in physics. My graduate work was in computational physics, specifically working with various numerical techniques for approximately solving quantum many-body systems (DMRG and related techniques).
