+1 Hi @Anonymous Coward. Point taken on "size" comment. By "size", what I'm trying to understand is if there's a kind of Reynolds-like number (I realize that it's dimensionless) between what's Newtonian and Quantum. Apologies if this is too vague.

comment In what order should the subjects be studied in order to get to String Theory
I'm a mathematician by training and took a seminar in string theory for mathematicians. I don't by any means have an intimate knowledge of String Theory. However, the above subjects were my prerequisites for the course.
