Yes, I am. For each layer, the physics holds the same Helmholtz equation except that $k_n$ is different. And $k$ in the RHS is identical to $k_n$ where the source is located. In this problem, it is essentially to understanding the wave form generated by a point source in layered medium.

@gautam1168 Well, the Green's function for Helmholtz equation in free space is quite simple. However, what I concern is the Green's function in stratified layer, which is no longer g(r) = exp(i k r)/(4 pi r) for three dimensional case.
