Convert units from cal cm^-1 day^-1. to Wm-2 I'm not sure, the equation is taken from another published paper so I can't see how they would have missed any additional terms. The paper is called 'Diel aspects of the thermal structure and energy budget of a small English lake', a screen shot of this equation is now shown in the original post. |

Convert units from cal cm^-1 day^-1. to Wm-2 OK thanks. Ignoring the equation for Qv, how would you convert 1 cal cm–2 h–1 to W/m2, I'm struggling to work through this step mainly |

Convert units from cal cm^-1 day^-1. to Wm-2 Did you look at the link? They seemed to do it, and that is a published article. Also, I've made a minor change to the post. |

Calculating the coefficient of thermal expansion in liquid But I would have though that volume = mass x density and since mass is conserved it can be ignored here. |

Calculating the coefficient of thermal expansion in liquid This works: alpha = rho2.*(((1./rho2) - (1./rho1))./dT); Does that make sense? |
