The direction of friction for a car wheel I'm agree with all you wrote . As you said " friction is the force on a surface that will oppose the motion of the object" and " friction opposes this and points to the left" , then it must point to left but the picture in the book shows vice versa , the friction is pointed to right in the same direction as the care moves. |

The direction of friction for a car wheel thanks for your answer but i'm not completely convinced. You mean if a car is moving on such a road then the friction is not in the opposite point but why? and what kind of friction is it? |
