Dynamics of a Vertical Mass-Spring Simple Harmonic Oscillator with Gravity According to my coordinate system, the vertical displacement at time zero is equal to zero. So, should the phase $\phi$ not also equal zero? If so, my solution is equal to the one described by you. Or, is my coordinate system inherently flawed? |
