Thanks for the response Mike. I'm fairly certain that's and old Canadian Pacific plane, so that's likely the Canadian Rockies, likely Mt. Robson in the background. To get back to the point, is there a smart way one could compute the amount of lift generated by the airframe other than the wings?

Parts 10 and 11 seem to just scratch the surface of the kind of thing I'm interested in and most of the notes cover general mathematical nonsense. I suppose what I'm looking for would be the sequel to this book.

As I stated in my question, I'm not really looking for books like this. Moreover, this book is incomplete and it doesn't look like it's covering continuum mechanics in any detail.
