comment How long can you survive 1 million degrees?
Another similar phenomena occurs in out own atmosphere! "The highly diluted gas in this layer can reach 2,500 °C (4,530 °F) during the day. Even though the temperature is so high, one would not feel warm in the thermosphere, because it is so near vacuum that there is not enough contact with the few atoms of gas to transfer much heat."-en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermosphere

depends on your conductivity, heat capacity and resilience of your body

comment Are there any existing technologies which use 2D images to extract 3D data?
Thanks, you're right. Also, I think that my question is pointless, simply because commercial technologies would always want to be better and more optimal, so it doesn't make sense for them to actually use 2D images to extract 3D data in the sense that I was curious about. It makes more sense for them to use more advanced technologies (e.g. laser scanning) instead of using extremely non-optimal technologies (e.g. digital cameras) to get data.

comment Quantum computers: are they possible or impossible?
"May 20, 2011, D-Wave Systems is marketing a $10,000,000 Quantum Computer named "D-Wave One" with a 128-qubit (quantum bit) chipset that performs just a single task—discrete optimization." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…
