comment If I mix 1 unit of water at at 30C° with 1 unit of water at 60C°, is the resulting water at 45C°?
The heat capacity is also a function of temperature.

comment Why is space a vacuum?
@BrianFunt Looks like the numbers for the density in interstellar space in Wikipedia from Tadokoro 1968 based on equipartition of energy were determined differently than the total mass of the observable universe given in the book "The Goldilocks Enigma" by Davies 2003. I don't have this book so I can't check where this number was from.
