Bill Wheaton

Retired space scientist, worked at UCSD (grad school), MIT (postdoc), and JPL in X-ray and gamma-ray astronomy, and later as a staff astronomer at Caltech (IPAC) in IR astronomy (2MASS & Spitzer Space Telescope).

I like to watch: Apollo 8 Trans Lunar Injection from HI in 1968, Apollo 11 launch from the beach by KSFC in 1969, first space shuttle launch from the Cape in 1981, & another in 1991, two or three shuttle landings at Edwards AFB, several science satellite launches, etc.

Deeply committed to human expansion into space, since I was too young (10 or 12) to know better.... :)
