Physics Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for active researchers, academics and students of physics. It's 100% free, no registration required.

What are the chances of becoming a tenured professor in physics? Is that a goal worth striving for? If a person is denied tenure, would it all have been a waste of time?

This isn't a question about physics, but rather a question about academic practices. That's not really what this site is for. – David Zaslavsky Apr 3 '11 at 9:11
I'd recommend to make some entries in registration to be obligatory. Eg age and qualification. This will not totally prevent such precoccious questions, but one could judge them easier. – Georg Apr 3 '11 at 12:39
