I have a catalog including information about position, magnitude, and redshift of galaxies in one patch of sky. I need to be sure about the complementary of my catalog about detecting objects. How I can measure the statistical errors of magnitudes in my catalog to be sure about the receiving results from Luminosity Function calculations?

I'm not quite seeing what's going on. Does that catalog not give uncertainties in magnitudes? Does it give them but does not give their correlations with other parameters? –  Chris White Sep 12 '13 at 22:05
